Springer Field was in good condition despite recent rains for a Wednesday night game between the Stone Poneys and host Springers. The Springers scored 4 runs in the 5th inning to break open a close game, but the Poneys hung on to play a complete game 10-1 loss against the multi-year state champs.

Jim Gabrielson had 2 of the Poneys' 4 hits, including a 400 foot line drive homer to left center. Sean Tillman and Nolan Lind had the other hits.

The Poneys were shorthanded at pitcher. Rob Gabrielson started despite having started a few days earlier against the Muskies. He gave up 2 runs, only 1 earned. Jordan Clitty followed suit, relieving as he had the previous game, going 3 innings and giving up 4 runs, only 3 earned. Cody Jones moved from catcher to the mound in the 6th, shutting down the Springers for an inning, before surrendering multiple hits to start the 7th, and yielding to Justin Haakenson for the final 1.2 innings. Haakenson allowed 1 earned run.

Former minor leaguer Ryan Morse pitched a complete game for the Springers, striking out 11. Drew VanLoy, Ben Griffin and Alex Jungels had multi-hit games for the Springers.
