The Poneys traveled to Princeton for a doubleheader last Saturday. Rain threatened throughout the day, with gusting winds and temperatures in the 50's.

In the first game, the Panthers took advantage of the wind in a big third inning, scoring 5 runs on 5 hits, including 3 doubles that may have been routine flyballs in better weather. Three more runs followed in the fourth, on 3 hits including 2 doubles. That was all that was needed, as the Poneys could muster only 2 runs in the game.

Josh Ludwig picked up the win, going 4 innings and striking out 4 while allowing 4 hits and 1 earned run. Kyle Connolly pitched the final 3 innings, striking out 4 and giving up 5 hits and 1 earned run. Rob Gabrielson took the loss for the Poneys, going 4 innings, striking out 5 and walking 1, while giving up 8 hits. Lee Torborg pitched the final 2 innings for Sartell, allowing 1 run on a homer by Josh Vickers.

The Poneys hit well through the middle of their order. Jim Gabrielson was a perfect 3-3 with a homer. Rob Gabrielson was 2-3 with 2 doubles, and Sean Tillman finished 2-3 with an rbi.
