The outcome was reversed in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader with Princeton. The Sartell Stone Poneys rode big innings in the second and sixth innings to hold off the Panthers. Princeton starter Josh Hanus ran into early season control problems, ending his outing part way through the second inning. Thereafter, Princeton, winner of last years Eastern Minny regular season, used multiple arms.

Lee Torborg, who threw the last 2 innings of the first game, kept right on going into the second game, lasting an additional 3.1 innings before giving way to Jordan Clitty. Jordan went for 2 innings, giving up 6 hits and 2 more runs, but benefitted from the Poneys' big 6th inning. Alex Lotthammer closed the door on the Panthers, pitching the final 1.2 innings and giving up no runs.

Once again, the middle of the order  came through for the Poneys. Sean Tillman stroked a bases loaded double with 2 outs in the  second inning, and finished with 4 RBI. Rob Gabrielson continued his string of multi-hit games, going 2-3 with a double, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI. LHP Alex Lotthammer helped the cause with his legs as well as his arm, drawing 3 walks and scoring 2 runs.
